FAQ

Here’s a few frequently asked and answered questions.  Please feel free to contact us if you have other questions not answered here.

Q: Can I recommend a photography vendor be listed?
A: Yes, however, the vendor should cater to professional photographers, and their products and services need to be made available through their business website.  For example, if a studio lighting manufacturer has a website, but only makes their product available to retail photography equipment stores, it would not be eligible for listing because they do not sell directly to photographers.

Q: Can a photography vendor respond to a rating/review?
A: Yes, however, just like each review, the response will go through our approval process before posting.

Q: Will Fotogfufu post negative reviews?
A: Yes, however, the general intent of this site is to provide positive feedback for those vendors who deserve credit for their good products and services.  Just as we photographers may occassionally fail to meet expectations of our own customers, so may our vendors.  In those situations, we expect you have attempted to resolve the issue with your vendor prior to your review, and only factual content of your negative experience should be disclosed here.

Q:  I have requested a photography vendor be listed on Fotogfufu, but they do not show up.
A:  Give us at least 7 days to list a new vendor.  After that, there are a couple reasons a vendor may not be listed; 1)  they have not met the conditions as a professional photographer vendor, or 2) they have requested to be deleted from Fotogfufu.

Q:  I do not consider myself a professional photographer, can I still use your site?
A:  Yes but with limitations, you can use the site to find vendors and read reviews, however unless you have a photography business with your own website (url), you will not be able to rate or write a review for vendors.

Q:  How many people are involved in the review approval processes?
A:   Yes.  In the case of a negative or adverse review, a minimum of 3 reviewing editors are involved in our approval process.   Positive reviews may be approved by as few as 1 reviewing editor.  All reviewing editors are educated and experienced in business communications and relationships.

Q:  How do you decide what goes in your Featured Finds section?
A:  While doing research for photographer vendors to list we have come across some unique products, gadgets and other fun fufu that we wanted to share.  Vendors cannot pay to be “featured”, they have to be found.  However, photographers are welcome to send us an email with their unique finds to be considered for the Featured Find section.
